Airways is providing training to air traffic controllers around the world and exporting multi million dollar state of the art simulators.

"Airways New Zealand is becoming recognised globally as a provider of high quality training," says Acting GM Shared Services, Sharon Cooke.

A group of 27 students from Saudi Arabia have just graduated after two years in New Zealand with training provided by Airways.

As they head home to start work, another group is preparing to start.

"We have provided shorter courses internationally for over a decade. But this is the first training course of this length. We are looking to secure similar contracts with other countries," says Sharon Cooke.

And, the hi-tech training simulators Airways have developed in conjunction with Animation Research are sold internationally also.

So the combination of state of the art training and highly skilled controllers are keeping aircraft separated and our airways safe around the world.
