Airways pricing consultation for the period 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027

Overview

In April 2026, Airways undertook a traffic volume and revenue forecast for the period 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027 based on schedule data available to it at the time. We identified that the available schedule data did not fully reflect the downside risk from anticipated schedule reductions – when those anticipated schedule reductions were overlaid, our forecast revenue for the period at that time sat outside the negative 2% range of the target revenue set as part of the three-yearly pricing consultation.

Airways noted that no pricing decision had been made, and it would not be in a position to confirm any change until it had worked through the implications fully. Given the volatility in jet fuel pricing and associated impact to airline schedules, Airways’ assumptions carried more uncertainty than in prior years, and that customer input especially mattered.

Due to the uncertainty that Airways noted, it was not possible to provide a sufficiently detailed volume forecast for customers, but Airways had enough information to indicate that its forecast revenue would sit outside the negative 2% range of the target revenue.

Airways therefore took the step of seeking feedback from customers without providing the detailed volume forecasts. It was Airways’ intention to then review the forecasts in light of any updated forecasts provided by customers and make a decision on whether to revise prices.

Airways invited customers to provide any additional information about their schedules or any other feedback by 15 May 2026.

Submissions

Airways received seven submissions from its customers for the FY27 pricing consultation.

Decision

Based on the submissions and updated airline schedules, our forecast revenue for the period is within the 2% threshold and in line with our risk-sharing mechanism. Accordingly, Airways confirms that there will be no changes to our published prices for the period, which were set in June 2025.

In addition, Airways has decided to defer moving onto the published FY27 pricing by 6 months to 1 January 2027 (previously scheduled to be from 1 July 2026) and is waiving the application of the published FY27 Pricing under Airways’ Standard Terms and Conditions until 1 January 2027.

Airways is acutely aware of the pressure on its customers and the critical role we play in supporting the broader aviation industry – we will not seek to recover the lost revenue from deferring moving onto our published FY27 prices.

These prices are included in our Standard Terms and Conditions and pricing calculator, which is on our website along with the consultation and decision documents.
