Airways today welcomed the appointment by Hon Simeon Brown, Minister for State Owned Enterprises, of Mayurie Gunatilaka to the Airways board. Her term will run from 1 December 2025, up to 31 October 2028.

With extensive governance experience in complex infrastructure projects both in New Zealand and internationally, Mayurie brings a wealth of strategic expertise. 

Board Chair Darin Cusack said “We welcome the depth of infrastructure, complex programme delivery and leadership experience that Mayurie brings to the Airways Board. 

“Mayurie’s leadership in infrastructure planning and implementation will be instrumental in supporting Airways’ ongoing commitment to delivering safe, innovative and efficient air navigation services.

“Airways has an ambitious strategy to transition New Zealand’s air traffic management system to increase safety, flexibility and adaptability to support the aviation sector. Mayurie’s experience will bring valuable insights to support the delivery of this strategy”.
