Airways’ Proposal to Adjust Charges within the Auckland Oceanic FIR (Chargeable Distances and Price)

Airways Corporation of New Zealand Ltd (Airways) is proposing to:

  • adjust the oceanic chargeable distances used for the calculation of en-route oceanic charges in respect of specific routes as shown in Appendix A
  • introduce asymmetric oceanic chargeable distances (charge a different distance depending on the direction flown)
  • discontinue its Future Air Navigation Systems (FANS 1/A) SATCOM charge and incorporate it into its en-route oceanic charge
  • increase Airways’ en-route oceanic charge by 8.0%.

The overall financial impact of the proposed changes is effectively revenue neutral to Airways but will vary for individual customers
