Standard Terms and Conditions
Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited is a State-Owned Enterprise established under the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1987. Airways provides services on a commercial basis under that Act and is also authorised by Section 99 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990 and under Part 172 of the Civil Aviation Rules to provide the airways services covered by these Standard Terms.
This document sets out the contractual Terms and Conditions upon which Airways' services are provided. In addition, this booklet contains pricing information and general information about the administration of our services.

NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS OF AIRWAYS CORPORATION OF NEW ZEALAND LIMITED –
KAPITI COAST AERODROME FLIGHT INFORMATION SERVICE (AFIS)
Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited (“Airways”) advises all its customers that, pursuant to Clause 8 of the Standard Terms and Conditions for the provision of Airways services (“the Standard Terms”), the following variations to the Standard Terms will take effect from 1 October, 2011.This variation is required as a result of an introduction of a new aerodrome flight information service (AFIS) service at Kapiti Coast Airport (formerly Paraparaumu Airport).
Airways recently completed a consultation and submissions process with customers. We have now reviewed all feedback and submissions. We take this opportunity again to thank those who took time to make submissions. Your feedback was taken into account during the process of making our final decision.
All customers are hereby advised that effective 1 October, 2011, due to the new AFIS service, aerodrome service charges will apply to all aircraft operating at Kapiti Coast Airport. Such charges will be calculated in accordance with the Standard Terms using the following rates:

Kapiti Coast Approach Charges
There will be no changes to the level of approach service charges relating to Kapiti Coast. The Kapiti Approach charges are summarised in the table below.

The relevant sections of the Standard Terms will be amended to reflect these changes as follows:
- Table A of the Pricing Schedule will be amended to include the aerodrome and approach base and weight charges specific to Kapiti Coast.
- Table F of the Pricing Schedule will be amended to remove Paraparaumu from the “Domestic Unattended” list and include Paraparaumu in the “Domestic Attended” list.
- To update and ensure the Pricing Schedule conditions align appropriately with the Kapiti Coast situation (i.e. where aerodrome flight information services are provided but not aerodrome control services) conditions e(ii) and (iii) of Part A of the Pricing Schedule are to be deleted and replaced with:
“(ii) Aerodrome service charges will not apply at an unattended aerodrome. For the purposes of this clause, an aerodrome is deemed to be unattended if:
- neither aerodrome control services nor aerodrome flight information services are provided at the aerodrome; or
- aerodrome control services are provided at the aerodrome but it is outside the hours when such services are provided; or
- aerodrome flight information services are provided at the aerodrome but it is outside the hours when such services are provided.
(iii) Approach service charges vary depending upon the aerodrome of destination as set out in Table A (where rates are prescribed for aerodromes specified by name and for “Other Domestic Attended” and “Domestic Unattended” aerodromes). With regard to aerodromes for which specific approach base and weight charges have not been fixed under Table A (i.e. those charged at the “Other Domestic Attended” or “Domestic Unattended” rates):
- The aerodrome’s classification (e.g. as domestic attended or domestic unattended) shall be as set out in Table F.
- Notwithstanding an aerodrome’s normal classification as domestic attended, the Table A domestic unattended rate for approach service charges will apply at that aerodrome when it is deemed unattended pursuant to condition (e)(ii) above.”
