Technical Unit

The Technical Unit is responsible for maintaining, monitoring and controlling communication, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management equipment in New Zealand in support of the Oceanic, Regional and Main Trunk Air Navigation Services.

Facilities Unit staff members provide routine cover for all Airways facilities in New Zealand

Technicians are based around the country ready to move quickly to fix or restore equipment vital to the work of Airways New Zealand.

Types of equipment: Radar, communication systems (radio…), navigations systems (VOR, Satellite/GPS), Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), and more.
