The most visible part of aviation in New Zealand are the aircraft flying around our skies. For the most part, these aircraft are controlled by Air Traffic Controllers (ATC's) working in towers around the country and the radar centre (Christchurch), although airspace in NZ is made up of both controlled and uncontrolled airspace.

What can I do until I'm 20?

Apply now and then you'll know where you're at! We'll offer you the first course you are eligible to do once you have turned 20. Then you'll know what opportunities you have!

Get a degree and get a real job!

• Do two years at Massey University in the Bachelor of Aviation Management (Massey University).
  
• Come to Airways and train as an ATC.
  
• Cross credit your Airways training to Massey and get a real job and a degree!
  
• The degree will set you up for a variety of career opportunities within Airways:
  
  • Management
    
  • Training
    
  • Safety investigation and management
  • View information on this qualification

Gap year Experience

• Have an experience - do an 18 week adventure training course with Southern Institute of Technology.
  
• Then go and get paid for having your OE in Summer Camps in the USA.
