Auckland tower gets a facelift
Scaffolding and plastic wrap will start to go up around our Auckland Airport air traffic control tower from April 16 as we prepare for restoration work to get underway on the tower’s façade.
Aged concrete is being replaced on the 54-year-old tower’s exterior to keep it fit for purpose.
The work will be a 24/7 operation and is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete. The tower will continue to provide full air traffic services throughout the work.
