Airways 2009 Main Trunk Pilot Survey Results

This report shows the findings from the recent Pilot Survey carried out in respect to Main Trunk services last year. Overall it is a very good report with a slight improvement on the 2008 survey. Although it is perceptions based, there are themes in the comments for each of the service areas that will be considered. Some I would suggest should be part of our day job which are not being done correctly so will need to be picked up.

For the towers, there are views that our runway utilisation could be better, the application of priorities and handover procedures between Tower and Ground could be improved. The Towers Services Manager and his Team will be reviewing these issues.

For the Terminals, overall pretty good. There are comments around the speed up then slow down speed applications between Area and Terminal although a lot less than the last survey. I believe CAM is providing benefit in this area and will progressiverly get better as we enhance system capability and performance. The frequency change point out of Auckland and the transition level/layer feature.

Ohakea services have no real issues.

Area and Bay have featured well; some comments around slowdown speed up as for the Terminals and lack of coordination across sectors but again a lot less comment than last time.

Our plan is continue to focus in on these highlighted areas through the service specifications which were developed earlier this year. These service specifications have a two fold purpose, standards compliance and service consistency for each of the domains. That is, for example, we provide terminal services consistently at each location.

Many thanks for participating in the survey , your input is appreciated.
