Stress plays a part in all our lives - whether in the workplace or at home - we all need to learn tools and techniques to help us manage that stress and develop a resiliency that will help in all areas of life.
Stress at work is growing and it has its cost - from health problems to absenteeism, staff turnover to industrial-relations problems. Central to good stress management is understanding your ability to exercise control over events that affect your life.
For the last two years, Airways New Zealand has run a highly successful stress management course for staff in the air traffic environment, optimising participants' resiliency to work and life events. Presented by experts in the stress management field the course has been highly successful with 180 Airways staff having completed the course and given positive feedback on the value of it to their daily lives. Now, with the increased emphasis on employer responsibility to manage stress in the workplace, we've had a number of Uploads to run the course for others in the aviation industry. And so this year we are expanding our course schedule and opening the course up to an external audience.
- Do you want to learn stress management techniques?
- Do you know people who you'd like to help manage their stress?
- Do you have a general interest in stress management and resiliency?
... then this is the course for you.
Presented by experts in the stress management field, the course was researched and developed for the stressful air traffic control environment. The course content, however, is meaningful for anyone. Whether you're a pilot, a technician, ground crew or working in support services - or whether you're currently experiencing high levels of stress or simply wanting to learn preventative techniques, the course is relevant to all.
Set in a relaxed environment, the sessions have a practical focus, including group discussions that enable participants to use their own experiences and backgrounds.
