Airways Corporate Structure
As a State-owned Enterprise (SOE), Airways is a fully-owned subsidiary of the NZ Government operating as a commercial business. We operate under rules set down by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of NZ.
Governance is provided by an 8-member Board of Directors, who in turn report to our two shareholding Ministers: the Minister of Finance and the Minister for SOEs. The day-to-day operation of the business is guided by our Executive Team, made up of the CEO and five General Managers.
We produce disclosure announcements for our half-year (Interim Report) and end-of-year accounts (Annual Report).

Vision 2015
Aviation plays a crucial role in New Zealand’s economic wellbeing.
Projected long-term growth of the aviation sector globally means it is essential to maintain the vitality of aviation through safe, effi cient, cost effective and environmentally sustainable air navigation services. To ensure this, future Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems must provide for optimum use of enhanced technology capabilities; both airborne and ground based.
